Radiological Substances Compliance
Technical support for waste management arrangements including integrated waste strategy (IWS) and decommissioning plan development; optioneering and optimisation (BAT/BPEO/BPM); and, technical underpinning including disposal route justification, waste characterisation and radioactive waste radiological fingerprint development.
Technical authorship and review and regulatory engagement support for EPR10 Radioactive Substances Activity permit and RSA 93 authorisation applications.
Environmental, sustainability and management system services including support to Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) and Environmental Statement (ES) development for new facilities; carbon footprint analysis for waste management disposition; and, integrated management system review, design and technical authorship.
Radiological Impact Assessment
Radiological Impact Assessments (RIAs) for radioactive aqueous and gaseous discharges to the environment encompassing human and non human biota dose assessments for both prospective (predictive) and retrospective (monitored) assessments. Predictive assessments include the use of regulator accepted models and development of numerical tools to address a client’s specific needs.
Development of Article 37 submissions to the European Union to assess environmental effects on other member states as a result of nuclear site operations. This includes assessment of emissions to air and water between member states.
Environmental Impact & Land Quality Assessment
Land quality management including due diligence assessments, characterisation and remediation strategy development and technical authorship of land management safety cases and Dedesignation Assessments under the 2004 Energy Act.
Design, review and implementation of bespoke environmental monitoring programmes to assess the flux and fate of radioactivity in the environment. Development of monitoring strategies and characterisation programmes for Ecosystem determination; identifying sensitive species, biotypes and potential assessment of radionuclide element behaviours in the biosphere in support of long-term biosphere assessments.
